Welcome to "My Journey"
Sawasdee krap / ka! (Hello!)
I'm Jeff, a passionate traveler who came to Thailand over five years ago and simply never left.
Like many people, I was first drawn in by the promise of stunning beaches, ancient temples, and incredible food. But the more time I spent here, the more I fell in love with the culture, the people, and the beautiful, chaotic, and wonderful reality of living in the Land of Smiles.
What started as a backpacker's adventure has turned into a life. Over the last five years, I've moved beyond the tourist hot-spots and built a home here. I've navigated the visa processes, learned (and fumbled) the language, found the best street food stalls that aren't in any guidebook, and learned the difference between just visiting Thailand and living here.
Why I Started This Blog
I created this blog to share those personal experiences with you.
The internet is full of "Top 10" lists, but it's harder to find honest, on-the-ground stories about what it's really like to build a life here. I want to bridge that gap. This blog is my collection of personal stories, practical guides, and hard-earned lessons.
My goal is to help you, whether you're:
- Planning an unforgettable two-week vacation and want to find hidden gems.
- Thinking about migrating to Thailand and need real advice on visas, finding an apartment, and daily life.
- Simply curious about what expat life in Thailand is truly like.
What You'll Find Here
On this blog, I focus on two main things:
✈️ Travel Guides: Practical tips, itineraries, and inspiration for exploring Thailand. From the bustling streets of Bangkok to the quiet mountains of the north and the islands in the south, I'll share my favorite spots.
🇹🇭 Migration & Expat Life: The "how-to" of moving here. This includes my personal journey with visas, renting, cultural etiquette, cost of living, and the everyday joys and challenges of being a foreigner in Thailand.
Thank you for stopping by. I'm so excited to share my journey with you. I hope my experiences can help you plan your own adventure, whatever it may be.
